Submit a Technic
A submission is a candidate technic. It enters the register the moment it is made, under a permanent reference, and it stays visible whatever happens to it — including if it is refused. Refusals burn no OPS number: a designation is assigned only on admission.
Write it from the kit first
Technics are authored by people, offline, in whatever tool you already use. Nothing on this site generates one. The kit carries the method, the sources, the filter every candidate is held against, and the output contract this form is the shape of — including the four categories excluded outright, whatever their source.
If an assistant helped you write it, say so in the provenance line. Assistance is permitted; concealing it is not, and the Foundation discloses its own on Start Here. What the panel reads for is whether the operation is yours — an entry nobody actually authored fails on that ground, disclosed or not.
Current kit version 0.1. State the version you authored from — without it a reader cannot tell whether a technic disagrees with its sources or simply predates their revision.
What happens after you submit
- Seven days. Every submission has a seven-day window. The deadline and whether it has settled are shown on this page.
- The electorate decides. With one to six standing holders: two yeses, and at least half responding. With seven or more, a panel of seven is drawn by lot, the author excused, and five yeses admit it.
- A reasoned veto refuses it outright, and the commons cannot outvote one. A veto without a stated ground is not a veto — it is recorded as an abstention.
- A window that closes short is a stall, not a refusal. Nobody said no; not enough said yes.
- Admission is not the manual. It decides what is eligible to be. Grading is a separate act, by someone who is not the author.
The governing document is the Admission Rules; where this page and the rules disagree, the rules are right and this page is the thing to fix. The whole of it, in plain language →
